‘Sweeney Todd’ Play Proves To Be Something To Look Forward To

As the spring semester starts, so does the production of another play for the Champlain Theater Club. This season, they will be presenting the eerie horror/comedy/romance “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” on  Feb. 21-22 and 27, 28, & March 1 at 8 p.m. in the Alumni Auditorium. The show is free admisssweeney toddion to students with their Champlain ID.

    Sweeney Todd is one of Broadway’s most popular running shows, dating back to March 1st, 1979, where the playbill originally said the story was about “ A barber who was unjustly imprisoned for years by a corrupt judge returns to England bent on revenge — a revenge that turns indiscriminately murderous, leading his resourceful accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, to bake the victims into meat pies.

Come on down opening night to see the latest thrill Champlain has to offer.
